“The virus is spreading.”

This past weekend has been an absolute whirlwind and I’m still reeling.

It feels like everyone in the world caught wind of the Tattooed Librarians of the Ocean State calendar after the Huffington Post shared our little article about it, and since then we’ve also appeared in newspapers all across the country through the Associated Press, became a trending topic on Twitter, and made it to the front page of Bing!

I’m so thrilled that it’s caused such a stir, and even more grateful that the response has been so overwhelmingly positive. The reaction from librarians and the library community has been particularly fabulous, with loads of support coming from outside the profession as well, which is awesome! As with any story that reaches thousands and thousands of judgey little eyes, you’re bound to catch flack from a few negative Nancy’s but c’est la vie. The calendar is doing exactly what I had hoped it would; it’s raising some awareness, peaking interest, generating discussion, making a little bit of money for us – and mostly creating a lot of smiles, as hokey as that sounds! For anyone who purchased one or even just shared the story with someone else, thank you!!
